Darren and Vera’s beautiful Yandina Station Wedding

We get to see some beautiful spots and work with some beautiful people. Being a small collective of great friends as well as musicians, we’re able to create some amazing memories for ourselves as much as we do for our clients. We are so fortunate at Lark Music to provide top-notch live music for a living and to be one of Brisbane and Melbourne’s most sought after wedding and corporate bands.
Last weekend Vera and Darren tied the knot in the serene surrounds of Yandina Station, situated in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. We hit the road from Brisbane to provide some chilled acoustic sounds for their garden party, after performing Darren and Vera’s handpicked ceremony songs, that included a great reworking of Vance joy’s ‘Riptide’ for female vocals.
Darren had visited one of our monthly showcases after finding us online and was impressed by our repertoire and the overall vibe and musicianship of the band. We (Lark) always try to be a little bit fresher than the competition. Always learning new tunes and keeping those DJs at bay, by ensuring that the high energy of the dancefloor is not broken by long pauses between songs. We like to think of our song list as a being ‘all killer, no filler’. After staying for the duration of the showcase, Darren liked what he heard and after a couple of quiet beers with Luke to discuss the ins and outs of their event, the band was locked in.
Darren and Vera were a fantastic couple to deal with, as they curated songs for us to play throughout the evening, that helped make everything feel all the more personal. We were obviously more than happy to learn their special songs!
With a 5 piece live band for their reception, and three chosen singers, it wasn’t long after the main meals that everyone was on the dance floor under the rustic corrugated roof of the illustrious Yandina Station. With the sun giving it’s final kiss to the surrounding hills and valleys, we had Darren and Vera’s guests dancing until home time with a selection of new and old classics.
